VA Holds Mental Health Summit -- Dementia was a big topic!

Yesterday I had the privilege of attending a VA Mental Health Summit at the Durham Arts Council that was convened to bring the VA and community partners closer together in their work to support Veterans with mental health needs.

The day included a video welcome from Michelle Obama and Jill Biden -- underscoring the importance of supporting returning Veterans.  What caught my attention was how inclusive the summit was....there was a special group focused on Aging Veterans...and I'm proud to say that 3 GGCI participants were in attendance, including two from Northern Piedmont Community Care of North Carolina

Here are some links to VA resources that may be helpful for Veterans with dementia.  This is another opportunity that we may wish to explore further, especially since we have VA staff as part of our GGCI!
